Leidos' Mechanical Design and Analysis Department is actively seeking college students (Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Grad) to work at our Huntsville facility over the summer break (May, June, July, and August depending on student availability).
What you'd do
- Support engineering analysis activities for DoD customers utilizing a broad engineering knowledge base.
- Develop structural and/or thermal analysis models using FEMAP (structural) or Ansys (thermal) for calculating response in system structures in effort to validate design.
- Calculate margins to determine design viability.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to produce excellent solutions for customers.
- Present analysis results to senior engineering staff.
What they want
- Student must be working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Student must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Overall GPA of 3.5 or above is required.
- Student must be willing to work in-office in the Huntsville, AL area.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
