What you'd do
- Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflows.
- Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory management, and production record systems.
- Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, collaborating with design teams to incorporate changes that eliminate risks.
- Manage moderately sized projects or processes.
- Independently resolve problems that are complex and challenging.
- Develop tactical plans to address day-to-day challenges effectively.
- Travel occasionally to local Iowa regional sites as required.
- Gaining expertise as an industrial engineer supporting various high-frequency communication radios and circuit board manufacturing processes.
- Developing proficiency in engineering tools used in the build and test of Datalinks radios, including SAP, engineering drawings, change control boards, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, PDM, and others.
- Acquiring experience with standard work tools and processes.
What they want
- Currently pursuing a BS-level STEM degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a similar engineering program through the duration of the co-op session.
- Previous co-op or internship experience in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis.
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
