Job Summary
The Data Engineering Intern will support the Business Intelligence and Insights team and collaborate with Data Architecture and Engineering team members to build and maintain enterprise data solutions. This internship offers hands-on experience developing cloud data pipelines, integrations, and data quality frameworks that support trusted, AI-ready data, enterprise reporting, and analytics.
What you'd do
- Develop and test data pipelines that ingest, transform, and curate data within Cambridge’s cloud data platform.
- Build and maintain API integrations and ETL/ELT workflows with guidance from data architects and engineers.
- Support data quality and data governance processes that improve the reliability and accessibility of enterprise data.
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Document data solutions and contribute to enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
- Use technologies such as SQL, Python, Snowflake, Azure, Event Hubs, Kafka, dbt, Git, Azure DevOps, Confluence, CI/CD, and database change management tools.
What they want
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Data Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with or coursework in Python, SQL, cloud technology, or data engineering concepts.
- Interest in developing data pipelines, APIs, ETL/ELT workflows, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an enterprise data environment.
