A Day in the Life
Our summer internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions lasting 10-11 weeks.
What you'd do
- Support design, development, analysis, and testing of engineering solutions during research and product development phases.
- Contribute to system integration, verification, validation, risk analysis, and data-driven evaluation efforts.
- Support safety testing, regulatory compliance, and transfer of products from development into manufacturing.
- Gain exposure to how new medical technologies move from early concepts through validation and manufacturing readiness.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to real design, testing, and system-level challenges.
- Understand how safety, quality, and regulatory requirements influence engineering decisions.
- Design and support manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment, machining, and material handling.
- Provide technical and sustaining engineering support within manufacturing environments, including equipment and process improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and production yield.
- Learn how products are built, assembled, and scaled for full-scale manufacturing.
What they want
- Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.
