STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Jr. Staff Accountant to join the team. This position focuses on the processing of accounts payable and staff accountant functions through the utilization of accounting software. Must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to investigate and resolve AP & Accounting issues as they arise. Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data and payments to accounts payable. Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data in the general ledger. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
What you'd do
- Compiles and prepares entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
- Assist the Accountant with journal entries and entry into the Accounting software
- Perform labor transaction adjustments or other adjustments in the Accounting software
- Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Devises and implements system for general accounting
- Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
- Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment
- Prepares and mails accounts payable checks
