Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, co-founder and former CTO of Tesla, on a simple but radical idea: the critical minerals powering the energy transition already exist. They just need to come back. Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America — recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain. On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house.
What you'd do
- Support day-to-day operations of a continuously running production line, including material sampling, forklift operation, and performing actions within Ignition and other Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Operate and train on material processing and manufacturing equipment, including material conveyance systems, shredding and milling equipment, and material screening and separation systems
- Operate and train on powered industrial trucks (PIT), including but not limited to forklifts and reach trucks
- Pick, stage, and load materials and inventory required for production areas
- Receive inbound shipments of raw materials, maintenance parts, and engineering equipment from suppliers
- Maintain accurate data and transactions within a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and generate reports to support operational and management decisions
- Participate in physical inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy
- Follow established material flow strategies to improve operational efficiency and minimize downtime
- Support and model quality control practices to ensure materials meet production and safety standards
- Foster a culture of safety and compliance, with a strong focus on the safe use of production and material-handling equipment
