Job Title: Co-op, Supplier Development Engineering - Mechanical

Position Overview:
The candidate will work with cross functional teams, including manufacturing, process, design, mechanical, and electrical engineers on projects related to root cause investigation of manufacturing issues, increasing manufacturing capacity, qualifying new component suppliers, analyzing current manufacturing processes, and improving company processes.
What you'd do
- Work hands on with lab equipment (Instron, Pressure Transducers, OGP, High Speed Camera, etc.) to aid Root Cause Analysis activities
- Design test procedures, 3D printed fixtures, perform custom tests, and analyze data to support tool qualifications and design enhancements
- Project Lead for at least one root causing / process improvement initiative
- Improve internal processes (data analysis, work flow systems, etc.) by automating tasks and standardizing methods using applicable software skills (VBA, etc.)
- Application of Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing concepts
- Assist/Lead Engineering Change Orders to improve product design
- Performs other duties as required.
- Up to 5% Travel to local suppliers as needed
