Do you want to change how the world creates?
At Formlabs, we’re building the tools that make it possible for anyone to bring their ideas to life, from cutting-edge products to life-saving medical devices. Our 3D printing technology powers innovation at more than 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. Together, we’re helping everyone design, prototype, and manufacture faster than ever before.
We’re a team of hands-on builders, engineers, and innovators reinventing how the world makes physical things. If you’re ready to shape the future of fabrication, come build it with us.
3D printing requires a complex interplay of software, hardware, and electronics – our embedded engineers are the critical component that ties these teams together.
What you'd do
- Design and implement embedded software applications from inception to release
- Collaborate with a stellar team of multidisciplinary engineers to constantly enhance the user experience of our products
- Write and ship meaningful code that makes our custom hardware work, find the bugs, and ultimately push the limits of 3D printing
- "Day in the life" of the Embedded Software team here at HQ Somerville consists of writing code and tests (mostly in C++) for new features for our printers, as well as testing software-hardware integration by working hands-on with hardware.
- You will be part of a team writing software that is used by thousands of customers of Formlabs printers
- This role does not require previous 3D printing experience, but you should want to learn and do it!
- xperience working with embedded systems
- Passionate about firmware and embedded electronics
- Willing to work with C++ or C, comfortable working with Python
- Confident in writing, testing, and debugging low-level code (from microcontrollers to embedded Linux)
- Development experience in Unix/Linux and distros
