What you'd do
- Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.
- Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
- Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
- Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
- Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- The workings of Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems.
- How to develop and maintain large-scale, complex software solutions in an agile environment.
- Testing frameworks and best practices to enable high-quality software deliveries utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts.

- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively ++enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
- Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
- Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
