Job Description
Position Summary:
Brookfield is recruiting for an Intern to join the Renewable Power & Transition team in Toronto or New York.
What you'd do
- Establish an AI tool to automate the initial draft of screening memos in Brookfield’s format, leveraging public information and confidential information memoranda.
- Build AI tools to summarize earnings calls and analyst research for public companies within our clean energy coverage universe.
- Deploy automated daily and weekly summary emails using AI agents to track announcements, transactions, and sector developments.
- Create a standardized financial model template to support screening memos and early-stage underwriting.
- Develop an internal benchmarking tool to analyze operating costs and generation performance across North American clean energy assets, identifying potential issues and opportunities.
- Automate the update and distribution of internal public company tracking materials.
- Partner closely with investment professionals to integrate outputs into live transactions and investment committee materials, ensuring adherence to Brookfield’s data governance and confidentiality standards.
What they want
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or MBA in a relevant field, with applied experience in AI/ML (e.g., building models, automations, or LLM-enabled workflows).
- Experience in investment banking (M&A), private equity, infrastructure, or related investing/strategy roles preferred (renewable power / real assets exposure an asset).
- Strong grounding in accounting, valuation, and financial modeling; ability to build and audit models independently.
- Demonstrated analytical rigor, sound judgment, and attention to detail; able to translate ambiguous problems into practical outputs.
- High ownership, strong communication skills, and ability to work effectively with investment professionals in a team environment.
