Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Electrical Hardware Design Engineering Intern to join a diverse team in summer 2027 to create unique solutions for complex problems. We have offices across the United States that provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields. At Leidos, our mission is to reach, equip, and teach students with an interest in the field of defense and aerospace. Running for over two decades, the internship program has been a staple at Leidos, giving interns hands-on experience in their future career path.
What you'd do
- Assist in the design, simulation, modeling and testing of hardware solutions.
- Working with design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium for PCB design, SPICE, and Visio.
- Develop and execute hardware verification plans.
- Debug hardware using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
- Collaborate with team members on hardware projects.
What they want
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/ university and currently working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Holds a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Includes resume and unofficial transcripts in application.
- Demonstrates problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of circuit theory and design.
- Exposure to at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, or C/C++).
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Able to work onsite in Huntsville, AL during summer 2027.
