What you'd do
- Learn underwriting functions
- Learn about the Commercial Property and Casualty Business
- Examines information such as insurance applications, websites, inspection reports, loss information, and third-party data in evaluating and making appropriate recommendations to underwriters
- Assist with rating of accounts
- Participate in team meetings
- Shadow Underwriters
- Perform special projects as needed
What they want
- Rising undergraduate junior or senior
- Ability to work out of our Scottsdale, Arizona office without housing assistance or relocation assistance from IAT Insurance Group
- Must be able to complete the entirety of the 10-week internship program (May 24th, 2027 to July 30th, 2027)
- Analytical thinking skills
- Problem Solver
- Basic spreadsheet skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Strong communication skills both with Technical and non-technical resources
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently
