What you'd do
- Insights into our growing engineering team in Puerto Rico—what we do, who we support, and how we work.
- Exposure to emerging technologies essential for maintaining Collins Aerospace leadership in the aerospace industry.
- Understanding of why engineers thrive in this industry and feel fulfilled doing work that truly impacts global safety, connectivity, and defense.
- Support programs across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, coding, testing, and verification.
- Collaborate closely with system and software engineers across Collins Aerospace to drive unified technical goals.
- Support the development of small applications and scripts that support integration, automation, and continuous flow of software updates.
- Assist in creating frameworks to automate testing, deployment, and software delivery.
- English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
What they want
- Actively pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and enrolled through the completion of the co‑op session.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
- Familiiarity with certification‑based development such as RTCA/DO‑178 or similar.
- Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with one or more programming languages: C/C++, Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ada 95
- Experience with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or LynxOS.
- Familiarity with tools and processes including Git, GitLab, SVN, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo/Panda.
